My joint and muscle pain gets in the way of my responsibilities at home and at work. I can’t play sports or train as hard as I want to because I’m hurting. I can’t have fun with my family and friends due to my pain. My pain doesn’t affect me much in daily life, but I still want to feel stronger. What is your top goal for doing physical therapy? I can get into the habit of doing healthy activities. I can get rid of my intense pain flare-ups and stop having to take pain meds. I can avoid future injury and learn about good form. I can do activities without having to think about my pain. Let's talk about sleep. How often do you get a good night’s sleep? I rarely sleep through the night. I can sleep through the night occasionally. I get a good night’s sleep about 3-4 nights a week. I sleep like a champ most of the time. How do you respond to setbacks in life? I’m driven to bounce back as quickly as possible by my high expectations of myself. Honestly, sometimes I can’t motivate myself to bounce back. I usually have a plan B in place, so I’m prepared for most setbacks. I go to others for support and take small steps by making things more fun. Do you believe that your body can accomplish what you set out to do? Rarely. Sometimes. Most of the time. Almost always. Do you know what your strengths are? I know what my strengths are, but I rarely use them. I know my strengths, and I work every day to get even stronger. I’m not sure what my strengths are.
